Leading NI based Mechanical & Electrical Contractor William Coates (Previously Weir & McQuiston), had already achieved certification to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 & BS OHSAS 18001:2007, but realised the need to improve the effectiveness of their management system. The integrated management system had been written a number of years previous and the company’s operations had since evolved, as a result, it was cumbersome to maintain.
We were approached by William Coates to redevelop the integrated management system to better reflect existing operations and reduce the administration associated with keeping it up to date.
The project to redevelop this bespoke integrated system began in April 2015 and was completed in June 2015. The HSQE / Compliance Manager received training in June 2015 and was impressed with the redevelopment process and how it reduced his workload without compromising compliance. In September 2015, William Coates were subject to an annual surveillance audit and passed with zero non-conformances. Now Ryan and the rest of the team can realise the benefits of a current and truly integrated management system.
